Roving Reporters is all about telling the real-life story and going beyond the unquestioned ‘facts’ – an opportunity that Chelsea fully embraced.

When I first found out that I was chosen by Varsity College to go on a Roving Reporters’ investigation, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I came into this field of journalism completely blind. I soon realised that it was going to be physically and emotionally exhausting to be an investigative journalist.

In my career I want to be a risk-taker, the one who keeps other journalists on their toes. I want to push the boundaries and ask the questions that others aren’t. Working for Roving Reporters is going to teach me how to be a great writer whether I end up working for a newspaper or magazine. I want to capture real-life experience, to walk in another person’s shoes, to fall right off the edge of one-dimensional reporting. I want to be one hell of a writer. I know that Roving Reporters is going to help me to be just that.
