Tony Sellmeyer, former Marathon runner turned open water swimmer has completed more than 50 Robben Island Crossings and many other Cape Town swims. Tony recently swam a section of the English Channel with Camps Bay-based international environmental activist Lewis Pugh to raise awareness about marine plastic pollution. “That swim had good results. A lot of firms are now changing their policy on plastic,” said Sellmeyer, who is now among our crew of Wild Swimmers raising funds for eco-tourism on the Wild Coast, and associated marine conservation and environmental journalism training initiatives.
